Over the last few months, I have reconsidered what I want my blog to look like and what kind of content I want to fill it with. It all started when I decided to switch to a licensed blog theme. That alone inspired me to shake things up a bit.

And more often than not, I seem to want it to be more personal. In a sense that, sometimes I feel like I wander off into an impersonal voice when all I write about are places I visit. While there’s nothing wrong with that, I find myself wishing to express more of my own thoughts.

That is exactly why, in the last couple of posts, I’ve started including more personal details. Such as saying Grégory instead of “my husband” and including more of my thoughts, even if they used to seem too silly.

I suppose I went down the safe road because I assumed nobody would want to read my blog anyway. Hence, who would wish to read some random thoughts of a stranger?

But I don’t care about those things anymore, I want to write about everything. The way I used to before, in my journal, marveling and lamenting on various aspects of life.

So if you don’t mind very much, in between the travel posts, you might find an odd reflective or personal post. For an extremely shy person like me, the idea of opening up doesn’t seem terrifying for the first time ever.

To most people, this might not be a big deal. However, it took me almost a year to take this blog as what it should be – MY little corner.

Rethinking the blog

It’s funny but I often encounter blogs that people started after moving away from home. And here I am, having left Croatia almost 3 years ago, still fretting about oversharing. So since everyone always asks the same questions, I hope these new posts will keep everyone in on the loop.

Even including photos of me on my blog is a step forward that happened gradually. So here’s to new and exciting, less-shy beginnings!
